For 48 years, Beyond Hunger has been providing free food and hunger-relief services to people residing on Chicago’s West Side and near-west suburbs, evolving to be a stalwart community leader.
With support from Albertsons, Beyond Hunger will reach over 70,000 people through our core programs including food distribution, nutrition and health education, and assistance in applying for state and federal benefits.
Getting to know Beyond Hunger
Beyond Hunger's mission is harnessing the power of communities to end hunger.
Beyond Hunger will distribute free, healthy food to 17,000 unique food-insecure individuals (70,000 duplicated) via our Food Pantry, Home Delivery, Short-Term Home Delivery (STHD), and Grocery Pickup programs. By providing nutritious foods, alongside connection to benefits like SNAP, participants have a higher chance of achieving the long-term goal of food security.
