Getting to know Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County
The mission of the SLO Food Bank is to “work with a network of community partners to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community.” We look to the time when every person in the county has adequate access to nutritious food.
This request would provide food for our Breakfast Bags program, providing low-income families with breakfast food for children in the summer when school meals are less accessible. Funds will purchase child-friendly, healthy breakfast foods that children can prepare themselves. Each bag contains three weeks of healthy breakfasts and each child receives two bags over the summer.
