Restoration & Reentry Initiative, Inc. empowers returning citizens and their families by addressing food insecurity and providing resources that promote stability, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

Funding will support the Fresh Start Food Independence & Reentry Pathway, helping families transition from emergency food assistance toward sustainable food security through nutritious food, employment support, financial education, and resource navigation.

Getting to know RESTORATION & REENTRY INITIATIVE

What the program does

Fresh Start will combine immediate nutritious food assistance with individualized food-security assessments, employment support, financial education, benefits navigation, nutrition education, and household food planning. Participants will follow personalized Food Independence Plans designed to move their families from recurring emergency food assistance toward sustainable food access.

The outcome they’re working toward

The desired outcome is for participating returning citizens and families to demonstrate increased access to nutritious food while reducing their dependence on emergency food assistance through improved income, employment, benefits access, budgeting skills, and connections to sustainable community food resources.
