Founded in 1972, we are the first food bank in California and second in the United States founded by a Blank Panther group of at UCSC to create a Breakfast for Children Program. At Second Harvest Food Bank, we commit to building a thriving community where everyone has nutritious food and essential services to support their health and well-being.

These families are able to access these pantries during school drop offs and pickups, granting families access to nutritious, culturally preferred foods they can select according to their household-specific needs at times that are most convenient for them.
