In their own words
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley provides food to neighbors across a seven-county region of California's Central Valley through school sites, mobile distributions, and community partners.
This grant will support Fresh Food 4 Kids, bringing fresh groceries directly to school and after-school sites so children and their families have reliable access to nutritious food.
Getting to know Second Harvest of the Greater Valley
Feeding the community through our partnerships.
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley's Fresh Food 4 Kids program partners with public schools and after-school programs across San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties, providing families with 20–30 pounds of nutritious groceries through campus distributions held twice monthly and on-site pantries available throughout the week. Many partner sites extend the program through the summer and holidays, when school-year food access ends for many of the families we serve.
