In their own words
Food Share of Ventura County works every day to ensure that children and families across our community have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.
This funding will support our children’s nutrition program by providing healthy snack bags and full food boxes through local schools and after-school programs, helping meet both immediate hunger and broader household food needs.
Getting to know FOODSHARE, INC
Food Share is dedicated to leading the fight against hunger in Ventura County.
Food Share will source nutritious, child-friendly foods, engage volunteers to assemble approximately 7,000 ready-to-eat snack bags and 2,000 food boxes, and coordinate distribution through more than 20 local schools and after-school program sites. This flexible model allows trusted partners to respond to both immediate hunger and broader household food needs, providing children with nourishment in the moment while also helping families bring additional nutritious food into the home.
