Getting to know Hood River County Christmas Project
Our mission is to assist low-income households in Hood River County with food and children's gifts during the Christmas holiday season. Our efforts help alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity during a significant time of the year. The Christmas Project extends help to anyone living in Hood River County in need of food assistance in December, whether or not they celebrate Christmas.
We will provide food boxes for households filled with staples like rice, beans, tuna, cooking oil - and also a variety of items to help prepare a holiday meal (contents vary depending on client's food box choice). We will distribute close to 30,000 lbs of food (based on last year's event) to supplement other foods clients may receive via local food banks. We provide food and funds FOR meals - not the meals themselves.
